WILMINGTON – Shawnee State’s men and the Cleveland State women won their respective races Friday at the fifth annual JennaStrong Fall Classic cross country meet at Wilmington College.

The meet is named after Jenna Parlette, a former WC runner who collapsed near the finish line of a race in 2013. She passed away three days later.

The annual Fall Classic cross country meet has been held at Wilmington College for 25 years but the last five have been held in honor of Parlette.

Hunter Stith was the top WC runner in the men’s 8-kilometer race, clocking a 27:24 and finishing 49th out of 329 runners.

On the women’s side in the 5-kilometer event, Allison Helmke was 142nd in 22:10.3.

The Fightin’ Quakers head to the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship meet hosted by Heidelberg University on Oct. 28.
