GEORGETOWN – Carter Stevens goal in overtime gave the Blanchester boys soccer team a 3-2 win over Georgetown in Division II sectional tournament action Tuesday at GHS.

The Wildcats will travel to Seven Hills 7 p.m. Saturday for its second round tournament match.

Stevens had a hat trick on the night, netting all three BHS goals. BHS assists were credited to Hunter Hartmann, Cameron Gibson and Topher Farrow.

BHS goalkeeper Jacob Fischer “played his best game of the year,” Ballinger said, and recorded 14 saves.

Georgetown had defeated Blanchester in the two regular season meetings between the two SBAAC National Division Schools.

Coach Brad Ballinger said the G-Men were unable to make it three in a row due to the “will and determination of the Wildcats.”

Blanchester took a 1-0 lead late in the first half then made it 2-0 in the second half before Georgetown rallied. The G-Men netted two goals in the second half to send the match to overtime where Stevens won it with his third goal of the night.
