ALLIANCE – The Wilmington College volleyball team dropped a straight-set match 25-8, 25-17, 25-21 to Mount Union Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference at The MAAC.

“Today we struggled to come out quick against a good Mount Union team,” said Wilmington head coach Tim O’Brien. “As the match progressed, we continued to get better with both our blocking and attacking leading the way. Both Taylor (McCuiston) and Ariel (Goforth) did well mixing up their attacks. Hannah Salyers and Morgan Loomis did a great job in the middle slowing down their attackers as well.”

Freshman Ariel Goforth led the team with eight kills and added seven digs for the Fightin’ Quakers. Freshman Taylor McCuistion finished with six kills while freshman Hannah Salyers and sophomore Amber Rox added four kills.

Sophomore Morgan Householder finished with a team-high 12 digs. Sophomore Alyssa McKenzie distributed a team-high 14 assists.

Wilmington (4-19 overall, 0-7 OAC) returns home 7 p.m. Tuesday to face Muskingum.
