Huffman wins state race, ROB girls 3rd overall

DUBLIN – Led by race winner Sophie Huffman, Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School girls cross country team finished third in the Silver Race at the OHSAA Middle School state cross country championship Sunday at Jerome High School.

Huffman blasted her own school record by hitting the finish line in 12:19.3.

Taylor Noszka was 11th in the race of 83 runners, finishing in a personal best 13:09.3

There were seven complete teams in the Silver Race, one of four races at the state meet. There also was Div. I, Div. II and Div. III races for boys and girls.

As a team, Borror trailed Riverside and the Cleveland Youth Running Club team in the race.

In the boys race, Trevor Billingsley of ROB was 17th out of 87 runner in a personal best time of 12:01.6.
