WC men 8th, women 9th at OACs

TIFFIN The WIlmington College men were eighth and the women ninth Saturday at the Ohio Athletic Conference championship meet, hosted by Heidelberg University.

The men were led by Hunter Stith, a Batavia High School product, who was 52nd in 27:30.2 on the 8-kilometer course.

Gage Clemens had a lifetime best finish of 64th in 27:43.3. Cameron Phelps was 85th in a personal best of 28:16.7.

Ryan Honkomp was 88th in 28:20.7 and Gage Egner, a Blanchester High School graduate, was 90th in 28:22.2.

On the women’s side, Allison Helmke led the Quakers by finishing 75th in 26:14.2.

McKenzie Hamm, another Blanchester grad, was 91st in 27:13.5. Summer Doty was 94th in 27:14.9 and Kayla Thornberry was 104th in 28:19.6. Kelly Rice was 115th in 29:11.6.
