BLANCHESTER – The Blanchester Middle School wrestling team finished third Saturday at the Blanchester Invitational.

Miami Trace won the meet with Lebanon second. Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School finished fourth.

Adam Frump and Zane Panetta were both weight-class champions for the Wildcats.

Hunter Smith, Bryan Bandow, Cody Kidd, Joey Haines and Levin St. John were all runnersup. Carson Curless finished third while Bryan Brewer, Adien Begley and Nick Musselman were fourth.

“I thought the team performed well,” Blanchester coach Ryan Shafer said. “We placed quite a few wrestlers. We have a lot of time to improve on some areas that were concerning me. Out of the three meets this year, this tournament was the toughest and our team was the most aggressive which is very promising for the near future.”
