WILMINGTON – No. 20 Marietta scored the first nine points Saturday and never looked back in posting a 100-71 win over Wilmington College in Ohio Athletic Conference men’s basketball action at Fred Raizk Arena.
The win keeps the Quakers winless in the OAC at 0-4. WC is 3-6 in all games. Marietta is 7-2 overall and 2-2 in the OAC.
Nathan Scott led Wilmington with 17 points.
Five players from Marietta reached double figures in points, led by Anthony Wallace’s 16. Avery Williams had 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Wilmington didn’t score until the 15:20 mark of the opening half on a Scott layup.
WC was just 7 for 28 from the field and committed nine turnovers in the opening 20 minutes.
The Pioneers were 19 for 35 from the field, including 5 for 11 beyond the arc. They had a 26-9 rebounding advantage in the first half.
