EC defense dominates in 64-14 victory

LONDON – East Clinton held Madison-Plains scoreless in the first half Wednesday en route to a 64-14 win in non-league girls basketball action.

The Lady Eagles scored just two points in the second and two more in the third period against a stingy East Clinton defense. Plains made just 6 of 36 field goal attempts.

Coach Jeff Craycraft was happy with several other aspects of the game.

East Clinton was 10 for 19 shooting beyond the three-point arc. The Lady Astros gave up just five offensive rebounds and committed just 11 turnovers. Also, with Mackenzie Campbell leading the way with six, East Clinton had 18 assists on 25 made baskets.

Paige Lilly had 14 points to pace the East Clinton offense while Lacy Peterman, Miranda Beener and Campbell scored 10 points each. Campbell also had four steals. Gracie McCarren led with eight rebounds.
