Blanchester 8th grade girls split pair of games

The Blanchester eighth grade girls basketball team defeated Mt. Orab 26-9 Thursday.

Coach Stanforth said the team played great defense in holding the young Broncos to under 10 points.

Daelyn Staehling had six points and four rebounds. Zoie Stanforth had six points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Lacie Tedrick had six points, two rebounds and a steal. Grace Irwin had four points, two assists and three steals. Emma Winemiller finished with four points, two rebounds and two steals.

Taylor Combs chipped in with two rebounds and three steals. Madison Creager had a rebound and a steal. Aleah Wells had a steal while Dallas Allen had a rebound and two steals. Emmy Hodge grabbed three rebounds.

On Wednesday, Blanchester lost to Goshen 46-20. Coach Stanforth said the young Ladycats struggled against Goshen’s pressing defense.

Irwin had five points, a rebound, a steal and an assist. Combs had five points and four rebounds. Winemiller finished with three points, two rebounds and a steal. Allen had two rebounds.

Tedrick had two points and a rebound. Stanforth had two points, nine rebounds, an assist and a steal. Hodge chipped in two points and three rebounds. Wells had a point, three rebounds and a steal.
