Wilmington College senior Samantha Glish has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week for winning three events in the final home meet of her collegiate career Saturday.

Glish won both the 50-meter freestyle (28.07) and the 100-meter freestyle (1:02.54) while turning in season-best times in both events. The Louisville, Ky. native’s time in the 50-meter freestyle is currently the fourth-best time in the OAC this season.

“I am really happy for Samantha [Glish] as this award is very well deserved,” said WC head coach Trip Breen said. “She has been outstanding, winning all of her individual races in our last three dual meets. She has a great work ethic and focuses on doing the little things well both in the and out of the pool.”

Glish also combined with Hannah Davis, Macki Leon and Margaret Hover to win the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:57.60.

The Fightin’ Quakers will take to the water again at the OAC Championships held at the University of Akron Feb. 15-17.
