WC men’s track, field fourth at Wittenberg

SPRINGFIELD – The Wilmington College men’s outdoor track and field team finished fourth Friday in the Coach Rob Invitational at Wittenberg University.

Complete results from the long jump, discus throw, and hammer throw are not yet available; article updates will be made once results are complete.

The 4-x-100-meter relay of Adam Knaub, Eric Flynn Jr., Pierce Burnam, and AJ Hightower finished fourth in 43.75 seconds.

Burnam then claimed second in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.49) and the 400-meter hurdles (54.08).

Hightower placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.2 seconds and fifth in the long jump (6.28 meters).

Another second-place finish for the Fightin’ Quakers was turned in by Antone Truss in the high jump (1.93 meters). Truss also was third in the triple jump, 12.55 meters.

Flynn, Koch, Knaub, and Elliott Phillimore joined forces to run 3:37.57 in the 4-x-400-meter relay and place seventh overall.

Kalvin Butts was runnerup in the hammer throw (41.14) and fourth in the discus (41.67).

Joe Holcomb was fifth in the shot put with a mark of 14.07 meters. Joe Shuga followed closely behind, hitting 12.74 meters, and earning eighth place. Shuga also was eighth in the discus (38.79).
