Wildcats rally falls short 14-11

MIAMISBURG – Dayton Christian held off Blanchester 14-11 Saturday in a non-league baseball game.

The Wildcats were down 13-4 after three innings but scored one in the fourth and six in the sixth to make a game of it.

“We battled all the way back and even got the tying run on in the seventh to make things interesting,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “Right now we need to improve at making the routine plays behind our pitchers. We are making them work entirely too hard.

“We had a couple of miscommunications on fly balls and kicked around plays in the infield that all ended up being costly.”

Dustin Howard had four of Blanchester’s seven hits. He also drove in four runs.

Cole Ficke had two hits and two RBI while Brody Rice knocked in two runs.

The Wildcats are 1-3 on the year.
