Blanchester JH boys track, field 3rd at Georgetown

GEORGETOWN – The Blanchester Middle School boys track and field team finished third Wednesday in the Georgetown Invitational.

This was the first meet of the season for the young Wildcats, coach Brad Ballinger said.

The 4×400-meter relay team of Bryan Bandow, Ryan Brewer, Jacob Haun and Jacob Lansing claimed the lone first-place finish for Blanchester.

Runnerup placements were recorded by the 4×200-meter relay team of Hunter Smith, Seth Akers, Johnny Herzner and Gabe McVey; the 4×100-meter relay team of Dustin Trace, Justin Gray, Joey Haines and Justin Hogsett; Troy Hedstrom in the shot put; Haines in the 200 hurdles and Levi St. John in the 100-meter dash.

Finishing third for Blanchester, Lansing in the 110-meter hurdles, St. John in the long jump; and Hedstrom in the discus. Brett Bandow was fourth in the 1,600-meter run.

Other top eight finishers for Blanchester were Ty Goodwin sixth in 200 hurdles and sixth in discus; Haun fifth in 800-meter run, Hogsett sixth in long jump; Akers seventh in high jump; Nate Coyle seventh in shot put and Gray eighth in 200-meter dash.
