In the midst of eight scheduled games in eight days, the Blanchester baseball team made it three wins this week on Thursday with a 10-0 win in five innings over Felicity in SBAAC National Division play.

Playing at a windswept Bott Field on the BHS campus, the Wildcats improve to 6-4 overall and 5-0 in the league.

“We came in and took care of business,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “The bats were hot and we got a quality start (on the mound) out of Eric Patton.”

Patton pitched four innings for the winning, striking out four. He gave up five hits but did not walk a batter. Dustin Howard pitched the final inning.

Lawson said the wind was an issue but his squad made the most of it.

“Justin Ballard made two beautiful catches going back on the ball,” said Lawson.

In addition to the pitching victory, Patton had two hits and drove in a run for the BHS offense. Preston Griffin also had two hits and a run batted in.

Cole Ficke doubled and had two runs batted in. Dustin Howard and Jack Davidson both drove in runs. Jacksson Waialae had a triple and two RBI.

“We need to enjoy this one and be ready to hit the diamond again (Friday),” said Lawson.
