DELAWARE – The Wilmington College men’s track and field team finished ninth Saturday in the All-Ohio Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Ohio Wesleyan University.

In the field events, Antone Truss and Kalvin Butts paved the way.

Truss won the high jump, clearing 2.10 meters, good enough for third among all NCAA Division III high jumps, according to the Wilmington College cross country and track/field Twitter account. Truss also was sixth in the long jump at 6.43 meters.

Butts was first in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.36 meters and 10th in the discus throw with a heave of 41.22 meters.

Joe Holcomb rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Quakers, earning ninth in the shot put with a toss of 14.31 meters.

AJ Hightower led the team on the track, earning second-place in the 200-meter dash in 22.12 seconds and third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.96.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Pierce Burnam placed eighth in 15.76. Matt Baker had a personal best 1,600-meter run of 4:26.

Wilmington heads to the Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State Friday.
