ADAMS TOWNSHIP – Kings finished on top of the field Thursday in the Copeland Invitational middle school girls track and field meet at Clinton-Massie’s Chick Brown Track.

Clinton-Massie was the top local finisher, placing fifth. Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror was seventh while Blanchester was eighth and East finished 10th.

Abbey Steed of Clinton-Massie was first in the 400-meter dash in 69.5 seconds, the lone first-place finish for the Lady Falcons.

Chloe Sutton posted Wilmington’s lone win in the 200-meter dash in 29.36 seconds.

For Blanchester, Emma Winemiller totaled 18 of the team’s 27 points with a win in the long jump (13-11) and a runnerup in the high jump (4-4).

For East Clinton, Carah Anteck set a school record in the 800-meter run with a 2:53.1 clocking. She finished sixth overall.

Jozie Jones had the top finish for the young Lady Astros, placing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles in a PR of 19.89.
