HEBRON – The Wilmington High School boys cross country team competed Saturday in the OHSAA Pre-season Invitational at National Trail Raceway.
The cross country season officially begins today, Aug. 20.
Simon Heys was seventh out of 150 runners, clocking in with a time of 17:06.2. WHS coach Eileen Grosse said the course was running slow on Saturday.
As a team, Wilmington was 10th overall. Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary’s won the race and was followed by Turpin and New Philadelphia.
The Wilmington girls did not compete.
Tyler Parks was 47th overall in 18:53.3. He was followed by Ricky Dungan 66th in 19:24.9, Matt Butcher 76th in 19:38.6, Pedro Escobedo 87th in 19:51.1, Tyler Preston 90th in 20:05.9, Aiden Hester 106th in 20:30.2 and Cam Combs 109th in 20:39.6.
