Middle school tennis program registration underway

Registration is underway for the Wilmington Area Tennis Association (WATA) middle school tennis program.

Cost is $50 per player for the club team. Students in grades 6-8 are eligible to play.

The WATA middle school co-ed tennis team is coached by Keith Gilbert and is open to any Wilmington area middle school-aged student. This is not a school sponsored program, so students from other area schools are eligible to participate.

Parents will be responsible for their children’s transportation to and from matches. Practices will be 3 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays beginning March 18. All practices and home matches are held at the tennis complex at Wilmington High School.

Uniforms will be provided but are due back at the end of the season. Players need to have a tennis racket, large water bottle, tennis shoes, and shorts with pockets or skirt at all practices and matches.

A parent meeting will be held 4:30 p.m. March 18 following the first practice of the season.

To register, visit wata.jerseywatch.com and click the red REGISTER NOW button on the right side. Use the calendar link to see the full schedule including matches. (Click forward to March/April). Email [email protected] with questions.
