WHS boys 4th, girls 6th at South Dearborn Inv.

AURORA, Ind. — The Wilmington boys swim team placed fourth and the Hurricane girls finished sixth in the seven-team South Dearborn Swimming and Diving Invitational Saturday at South Dearborn High School.

Austin Carey led the Wilmington boys with a top finish in the 50-yard freestyle and a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Sam Osborn and Andrew Moyer also scored in the 50 free with fifth- and 11th-place finishes, respectively.

That trio, along with Harrison Law, formed the 200-yard medley relay team that took fourth place. That foursome also took third in the 200-yard freestyle.

Other Wilmington boys point-scorers include Law, fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and seventh in the 100-yard backstroke; Moyer, 10th in the 100-yard freestyle; and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Daniel Freese, Xavier and Jacob Disney, and Elijah Schroeder, finished fifth.

For the Hurricane girls, Alison Dooley led the way with a first in the 100-yard breaststroke and fourth in the 200-yard individual medley. She also was part of the 400 free relay team, with Brianna Gilbert, Morgan Bahr and Meredith Robinson, that finished fifth and the seventh-place 200-yard medley relay team with Gilbert, Anna Garnai and Bahr.

Garnai, Robinson and Gilbert, along with Rachael Billups, took fourth in the 200-yard free relay.

Other Wilmington girls point-winners include Bahr, sixth in the 100 free and ninth in the 200 IM; Gilbert, eighth in the 50 free; Billups, 10th in the 100 back; and Garnai, 12th in the 200 free;

BOYS: Oak Hills 290, Cincinnati LaSalle 282, South Dearborn 164, Wilmington 132, Milan 113, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 106, Oldenburg Academy 66.

GIRLS: Cincinnati Mother of Mercy 287, Oak Hills 278, South Dearborn 165, Milan 144, Oldenberg Academy 117, Wilmington 105, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy 101.
