Borror girls squad split with Massie

Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School girls basketball teams split a pair of games Monday with Clinton-Massie.

The 8th grade (2-0 against league teams) defeated the Lady Falcons 40-18.

Sami McCord paced the ROB attack with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Karlie Morgan had a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, 3 steals and a blocked shot.

Olivia Veidt added 7 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and a blocked shot. Anna Borton scored 6 points and pulled in 1 rebound. Jasmine Jamiel led the defensive charge with 10 steals while scoring 2 points and grabbing 1 rebound.

Allie Kees had 2 rebounds. Madison Moore, Lexi Evans and Abigail Gillman also had 1 rebound. Evans, Moore and Sophie Blessing had 1 steal each.

The ROB seven grade lost a close game 40-38.

Bailey Zerby led the young Lady Hurricane with 18 points.

Chailyn Johns scored 9 points. Vaigan Zeiger, Maura Drake, Emely Self and Emily Butcher also scored for Borror.
