ROB 8th grade boys split with Massie, Greenfield

The Rodger O. Borror Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team split games Monday and Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the young Hurricane (2-1 on the year) defeated Greenfield 41-38 in overtime.

Blake Rhodehamel gave Borror a 39-38 lead late in the overtime then Conner Mitchell stole the inbound pass and scored for the final margin.

Jack Murphy led the Wilmington squad with 15 points. Cameron Coomer had 9 points while Rhodehamel finished with 8. Chris Custis and Zack Evans also scored for ROBMS, coach Steve Crago said.

On Monday at home, the 8th graders were defeated by Clinton-Massie 50-36. The Hurricane trailed by 11 at halftime then rallied to within 1. However, the Falcons surged ahead in the end.

Murphy led ROB with 11 points and Coomer tossed in 10. Mitchell and Rhodehamel finished with 5 points each.
