Massie girls pull away for 58-37 win

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Miquela Santoro scored 12 of her game-high 27 points in the third period as Clinton-Massie pulled away from Washington 58-37 Wednesday night in South Central Ohio League girls basketball action.

In the Blue Pit at Washington Senior, the Lady Falcons and Lady Blue Lions went at it toe-to-toe through the first half.

Clinton-Massie led 13-9 after the first period and 26-22 at halftime agains the pesky Blue Lions.

But in the third period, the Lady Falcons slowly began to pull away. With Santoro scoring 12 of Massie’s 18 points, the Blue Lions deficit grew to 44-32 by the end of the period.

In the final quarter, Washington struggled offensively, scoring just 5 points as Clinton-Massie grew its lead.

Hannah Haithcock led Washington with 12 points, 6 coming in the opening period.

Aside from Santoro, Johanna Theetge was next in line in the scoring column for CMHS with 9 points.

The Lady Falcons are 9-1 overall and 5-1 in the SCOL.

The Lady Blue Lions are 3-5 overall, 2-3 in league play.

Washington will host Fairfield Friday night.

Massie will host East Clinton Saturday.
