WHS bowlers sweep Massie

The Wilmington High School boys and girls varsity bowling teams defeated Clinton-Massie in matches Wednesday at Royal Z Lanes.

The Hurricane boys had a 2,529 while the Falcons came in with 2,447.

Sawyer Kratzer led the way for WHS with a 468 series (games of 242, 226).

Tristan Reiley and Ryan Hottinger backed Kratzer with solid 400-plus series. Reilly had games of 225 and 187 (412) while Hottinger had games of 216 and 198 (414 series).

The Lady Hurricane were led by Katie Hottinger’s 380 (182, 198 games).

Sarah Waln had a 164 game while Chasity Asher had a season-high 301 series, with games of 140 and 161.

“I am pleased with both teams,” said WHS coach Joe Davis, who added newer varsity members such as Reiley, Asher, JT Croghan and Donavon Brown “are really improving and helping out.”
