Blan JH boys teams both improve to 3-1

The Blanchester Junior High School boys basketball teams improved to 3-1 on the year Thursday with wins over Norwood.

The 8th grade had a great shooting night in a 50-35 win. Blanchester was 18 for 41 from the field and 14 for 20 from the free throw line, coach Brad Ballinger said.

Tanner Creager had 18 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Hunter Bare had 13 points and 8 rebounds. Avin Whitaker had 9 points and dished out 3 assists. Kaleb Goodin had 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Jay Ashcraft had 4 points. Braden Roy had 3 rebounds, 2 assists and played sound defense, Ballinger added.

In the 7th grade game, the young Wildcats dropped the Indians 48-38.

Brayden Sipple had 26 points and 10 rebounds while Trenton Czaika added 10 points.

Brody Rice had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Hunter Hartmann and Kyle Hopkins had scored 2 points each. Bryan Miller handed out 6 assists, coach Tom Greve said.
