Clinton-Massie graduate Kasey Uetrecht has helped lead Northern Kentucky to the semifinals of the Horizon League women’s basketball tournament.

The 2014 CMHS grad led the Norse in scoring in tournament wins Thursday against Cleveland State and Friday against Valparaiso.

Thursday, Uetrecht had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in NKU’s 71-59 win over CSU. Friday, she had 18 points on 8 of 9 from the floor in a 76-53 win over Valpo.

Up next for the fifth-seeded Norse is a matchup with the top seed and tournament hosts Green Bay 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kress Events Center. Green Bay has won the regular season Horizon League championship 18 years in a row. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

If NKU can pull the upset, they would play in the championship game 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPNU.

Uetrecht is averaging 11.5 points per game for the 19-12 Norse. Northern Kentucky is in the fourth and final year of NCAA Division I reclassification, making the Norse ineligible for the NCAA tournament. They are eligible for a bid to either the WNIT or the WBI.
