ANGOLA, Ind. — The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team suffered their third loss of the season, falling to Trine University Wednesday, 16-3, in non-conference action.
Trine scored nine straight goals in the second and third periods to expand an one-point lead into a 10-point bulge.
Freshman Matt Dugan scored two of Wilmington’s three goals, the latter of which was assisted by sophomore Jhordan Lang (Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut).
Senior Jalen Jackson (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) registered Wilmington’s only other other.
Senior Zach Swenson (Milford, OH/Milford) finished with a team-high four groundballs.
Wilmington was just 9-of-23 on faceoffs.
The Thunder converted 95 percent (20-of-21) of their clear attempts, while WC converted 86.6 percent (13-of-15) of its attempts.
Neither team scored on their man-up opportunities, going a combined 0-for-11.
Wilmington (2-3) looks to even its record 1 p.m. Saturday as the Fightin’ Quakers travel to Franciscan.
