OAC leader ends WC men’s lacrosse season

BEREA – The Wilmington College men’s lacrosse team finished the 2016 season with an 18-7 loss to Baldwin Wallace Saturday, 18-7, at George Finnie Stadium in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Baldwin Wallace, who leads the OAC men’s lacrosse standings, led 11-0 at halftime, and scored the first 13 goals of the game.

Junior Reid Delaney (Wooster, OH/Wooster) scored Wilmington’s first goal with 7:01 remaining in the third period. He finished with two goals and two assists in the season-finale.

Sophomore Matt Dugan (Hilliard, OH/Davidson) added two fourth-period markers for Wilmington.

Sophomore Jhordan Lang (Sunbury, OH/Big Walnut) added a goal and an assist.

Senior Jalen Jackson (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) tallied an assist to finish his career with 112 goals and 104 assists.

Junior Paul Koerbel (Maineville, OH/Kings) finished with nine saves on 22 shots.

It marked the final game for Alexander Gossard (Galloway, OH/Hilliard Bradley), Camden Doherty (Westerville, OH/South), Austin Johnston (Columbus, OH/Hilliard Bradley), Jackson, Zach Swenson (Milford, OH/Milford), Alex Barton (Galloway, OH/Hilliard Bradley), Jesse Buhrman (Westlake, OH/Westlake), Ethan Zimpfer (Botkins, OH/Botkins) and Garyk Todd (Pickerington, OH/Central).

Wilmington finishes the season 6-8 overall, 2-5 in the OAC.
