WAVERLY, Iowa — Wilmington College senior Marissa Bolen wrapped up her storied career Friday at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wartburg College.

Bolen (Gibsonburg High School) finished 19th of 22 competitors in the shot put. She fouled on her first and third attempts, and posted a mark of 12.64 meters in her second attempt.

“I know it’s not the way she wanted to finish,” said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. “Marissa has been a giant part of our program for the last four years, and she should be very proud of everything she has accomplished as a Quaker.”

She placed 11th in the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Championship and 18th in the 2015 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championship.
