BAD BREAK
Yankees reliever Andrew Miller is going to see a hand specialist after he broke his non-pitching wrist when he was struck on the right arm by a line drive in the seventh inning of New York’s 2-0 win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. The left-hander threw his glove and walked into the Yankees’ dugout after pinch-hitter Willians Astudillo’s comebacker went off his arm, just above the wrist. X-rays were negative, but a CT scan revealed a chip fracture. Miller was New York’s closer last year and was slated to fill that role while Aroldis Chapman serves a 30-game suspension under baseball’s new domestic abuse policy. If Miller is sidelined, Dellin Betances would open the season as closer.
ON THE MARKET
Tampa Bay has informed first baseman James Loney that he will not make its team. Loney fell out of the Rays’ plans following the offseason acquisition of Logan Morrison and Steve Pearce. But Loney hit .280 with four homers and 32 RBIs in 104 games with Tampa Bay last season and could draw attention. So far, he has not been released or traded.

Los Angeles Dodgers No. 2 starter Scott Kazmir is set for his final spring appearance against the Los Angeles Angels and their No. 2 starter, Andrew Heaney, at Dodger Stadium in both pitchers’ final tuneup for the regular season.
