4:35 p.m.

Roger Federer lost in the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in his career, falling to Milos Raonic 6-3, 6-7 (3), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 on Centre Court.

The seven-time champion from Switzerland had a break point late in the fourth set that would have allowed him to serve for the match. Instead, Raonic held and later broke Federer in the final game of the set.

Raonic, seeded sixth and the first Canadian man to ever reach a major final, will face either Andy Murray or Tomas Berdych on Sunday.

The 34-year-old Federer had been 10-0 in Wimbledon semifinals, winning seven of his finals.

Milos Raonic broke Roger Federer’s serve and leads 3-1 in the fifth set of the Wimbledon semifinals.

Before the fifth set started, Federer had a trainer massage his right thigh.

Raonic won the first and fourth sets on Centre Court, while Federer took the second and third.

Raonic won the fourth set 7-5, breaking the seven-time champion in the final game. Raonic won the first set 6-3 on Centre Court, and Federer took the next two 7-6 (3), 6-4.

Neither player was able to break the other’s serve in the set, but Federer took advantage of a double-fault in the tiebreaker to edge ahead.

The sixth-seeded Canadian converted the only break point of the set in the fourth game on Centre Court.

Raonic served first and third, and leads Federer 2-1 on Centre Court.

Roger Federer is one win away from his 11th Wimbledon final, while Andy Murray is chasing a spot in the title match for the third time.

Their semifinals are on Friday at the All England Club.

Third-seeded Federer will be up first on Centre Court, facing No. 6 Milos Raonic.

No. 2-seeded Murray will then play No. 10 Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

Federer, bidding for a record eighth title, has never lost a Wimbledon semifinal. Raonic, who lost in the semifinals to Federer in 2014, is seeking to become the first Canadian man to reach a Grand Slam final.

Murray, who won the title in 2013, is aiming to reach his 11th major final. Berdych was runner-up here in 2010 to Rafael Nadal.
