Wilmington High School graduate Alison Dooley and East Clinton graduate Thomas Wright were named the 2017 Wilmington News Journal Clinton County Scholar-Athlete award winners Thursday night during a program at the Expo Center on the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The nominees present for the award Thursday were, from left to right, were, from left to right, Hunter Collier, Jared Monhollen, Emma Gundler, Thomas Wright, Angela Miller, Hunter Toller, Jocelyn Burton, Veronica Ilg, Gracie Storm, Sydney Ilg, Alison Dooley, Cole Isaacs, Savannah Morgan, Chris Demler, Nicademus Hayward and Gage Smith. Nominees Aric France and Anthony Osburn were not present for the ceremony. Also, the five newest members of the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame were officially inducted.
