A woman was medically transported after an accident Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Nelson Road and U.S. 22 and State Route 3 in Wilmington. Wilmington Police Sgt. Bob Martin told the News Journal on scene that a gray sedan was headed southbound on Nelson Road when it failed to yield at the stop sign before U.S. 22 and State Route 3 and was struck by a black SUV. Martin said he understood the woman driving the sedan was on her GPS didn’t observe the stop sign.
