The Laurels of Blanchester once again sponsored the Firecracker 5K Walk/Run that was held July 4. This is the fifth year that The Laurels has sponsored the race.

The Laurels would like to thank all the participants and invite them back again next year. We also want to thank the following for their generosity in supporting the race — Shirley Vallee, Chubby’s Pizza Inc., First National Bank, Peoples’s Bank, Impact Salon, Hollon Trucking, Clinton County Community Action, Hospice of Hope, The Strength Lab, Craig Dawley’s Lawn Care, and Hey Graphic’s Inc.

The winners in the Male Division for this year are: first place, Drew Pucket; second place, Caleb McCullough; and third place, Gage Egner.

The race is held to raise money for a scholarship for a graduating Blanchester High School senior that will be entering the medical field in some manner. This year we raised $3,000 that will be given out in 2016. So once again, we want to thank everyone that participated and invite everyone to participate again next year.
