CM earns first SCOL tennis win

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Led by a rallying Morghan Eades, the Clinton-Massie tennis team picked up its first South Central Ohio League win of the year Thursday by defeating Miami Trace 4-1.

Eades was down 5-1 in the second set then won 7-4 in the tiebreaker to claim a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory.

Emma Bailey and Claire Carruthers improved to 4-1 in SCOL matches at first doubles. Kelly Deatherage picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at third singles.

Coach Lynn Deatherage said the doubles teams are working well together and the singles players are continuing to put together good shots for CMHS.
