BLANCHESTER — Now the only unbeaten Southern Buckeye Conference, the Blanchester boys soccer team has a league championship in its grasp.
The Wildcats defeated Clermont Northeastern 4-1 Monday in a SBCN contest at Barbour Memorial Field. The Wildcats are 5-0-1 in the league and 8-1-2 overall.
Dade Coyle scored on a penalty kick to put Blanchester up 1-0. Logan Swinderman had two first half goals as the Wildcats cruised to a 3-0 lead. Both of Swinderman’s goal came off double assists by Dade Coyle and Topher Farrow.
Brendan Daugherty found the back of the net on a long shot outside the 18-yard box, coach Troy Ballinger said.
Keeper Dakota Penquite had eight saves on the night, “with a few jaw-dropping feats,” Ballinger added.
