CNE blanks Blan girls

BLANCHESTER — Unable to find the back of the net, the Blanchester girls soccer team was defeated by Clermont Northeastern 3-0 Monday in a Southern Buckeye Conference National Division matchup at Barbour Memorial Field.

Blanchester is now 8-3-1 overall and 5-2 in the SBCN.

Ladycats coach Kurt Ballinger said his squad generated several scoring opportunities but were unable to finish.

Clermont Northeastern scored late in the first half off a corner kick then made it 2-0 with a goal early in the second half. The Lady Rockets scored the final goal late in the match.

Regan Ostermeier had 15 saves in goal for Blanchester. Ballinger said midfielder Audrey Jordan and defenders Merri Lindsey and Emma Gundler played well for BHS.
