BLANCHESTER — A goal by Bethel-Tate in the final 10 seconds of the match Tuesday sent Blanchester to a 2-1 loss in Southern Buckeye Conference National Division play at Barbour Memorial Field.

The Ladycats are 9-4-1 on the year and 6-3 in SBCN action. The Lady Tigers are 3-4-1 in league play.

BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said Bethel-Tate “seized the victory by punching in a goal … off of a corner kick.”

Blanchester was unable to clear the corner and following a wild scrum in the box, the Lady Tigers finally finished off the win by slipping the ball past the BHS goalkeeper, Ballinger said.

The two teams played to a 0-0 tie at halftime.

Bethel-Tate took a 1-0 lead but Blanchester scored 10 minutes later when Sierra Drake finished an Audrey Jordan cross to make it 1-1. The assist for Jordan gives her 15 for the year and sets a new BHS single season record.

Blanchester had several scoring chances after drawing even but were unable to find the back of the net.

Regan Ostermeier had seven saves in goal for BHS. Mckenzie Hamm had a solid defensive effort for the Ladycats.

Blanchester will honor its seniors Thursday against Georgetown.
