Donald “Don” Sutterfield, 94, of Wilmington passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at Clinton Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Sutterfield was born March 21, 1921 in West Union, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Matilda Smith Sutterfield. He was a graduate of West Union High School.

Over the years, Mr. Sutterfield worked at several area grocery stores including Kroger, Bob & Carl’s, and Uhl’s IGA. He will be missed for his unfaltering love, consistent work ethic and predictable comments. He was a member of the Wilmington Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Sutterfield is survived by two daughters, Dollie (Walter “Butch”) Peelle of Wilmington and Carol (David) Howell of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Howell, Tim (Angi) Howell, Brian (Lisa) Howell, Susie (Brian) Bueno, Tracey (Rob) Zachrich, and Carrie (Doug) Zeigler; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, a brother, Ralph Sutterfield, a sister, Ruth Marshall, an d a granddaughter, Denise Howell, are preceded in death.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
