NEW RICHMOND — The Blanchester junior varsity football team was defeated by New Richmond 19-8 Saturday at NRHS.

The loss puts the Wildcats at 1-3 on the year.

Blanchester led 8-6 at halftime but New Richmond took the lead early in the third quarter and then put the game away on a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Clayton Schirmer scored the only BHS touchdown on a long run. Tanner Creager added the two-point conversion. Creager has scored a two-point conversion in all four BHS games this season.

Cody Henson and Dale Sturgill had solid games running the ball for the Wildcats.

On defense, Chace Sicurella had two sacks and another tackle for loss. Justin Ballard also had two sacks, a tackle for loss and a pass breakup. Lucas Thacker played well in the secondary with a tackle for a loss and two deflected passes.
