The Wilmington College volleyball team hosted a tri-match Friday and lost to both Marietta and Albion in non-conference action at Fred Raizk Arena in Hermann Court.

Despite being a member with Wilmington in the Ohio Athletic Conference, the match with Marietta was a non-conference tilt.

Against Marietta, Wilmington played without starting setter Alyssa McKenzie and was forced to move starting libero Becca Harting to setter. It was her first career start at the position and it was the first career start at libero for freshman Morgan Householder.

Freshman Amber Rox finished with a team-high six kills. Freshman Lauren Fraysier added four kills while Harting finished with eight assists. Senior Kara Short added five assists. Householder recorded a team-high 10 digs.

Against Albion, Short, for the first time in her career, spent an extended amount of time as the team’s primary setter. She finished with a career-high 21 assists.

Rox finished with seven kills, while Fraysier and junior Kennedy Harshaw finished with four kills each. Junior Ileesha White finished with three solo blocks.

Four players racked up double-figure digs, led by sophomore Sydney Smith, who had 16. Householder added 14, freshman Shelby Wright recorded 12 and Rox finished with 11.
