BETHEL — The league unbeaten Bethel-Tate boys soccer team handed Blanchester its first league loss of the season Tuesday 2-1 on the Tigers home field.
The Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division loss puts the Wildcats at 5-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the league. Bethel-Tate is 12-2 overall and 8-0 in league play.
Dakota Penquite had 20 saves in goal for Blanchester.
Blanchester grabbed a 1-0 lead when Brant Bandow’s throw-in set-up a Topher Farrow header that found the back of the net, coach Troy Ballinger said.
The Tigers scored two goals in the second half for the win.
