NEW CONCORD – Junior Nils Asteberg earned first team Academic All-Ohio by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.

“I am very pleased that Nils has been recognized by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association for the quality of his work on and off the field,” said Wilmington College head coach Bud Lewis. “Nils had a great season for us and played a pivotal role in the successes we had on the field. His play as a centerback, and then as our defensive center mid provided a strong defensive presence on the field. As a junior and captain of the team, his leadership, quality of play and his great work in the classroom earning a 4.0 this fall was very impressive. He continues to be a great role model for his teammates and younger players in the men’s soccer program.”

A business administration major with a 3.89 grade point average, he started in all 17 games as a defender for the Fightin’ Quakers.

Wilmington finished the season 5-11-2 overall and 2-7 in the OAC.
