FAYETTEVILLE — A late surge fell just short Tuesday night as the Blanchester freshman boys basketball lost its first game of the season against Fayetteville, 35-32.

Tanner Creager led Blanchester with 15 points. Hunter Bare added nine points. Kaleb Goodin chipped in six points. Jay Ashcraft had two points.
