Noon Rotary honors students of month

WILMINGTON — Wilmington High school senior Shania Williams and Clinton-Massie senior Andrew Evans have been selected as Wilmington Noon Rotary Club’s December Students of the Month.

Shania Williams is known throughout the Wilmington community for her strong character and her academic, athletic, and civic leadership.

Shania is a member of the Key Club Executive Board and the Interact Club Board of Directors. She also holds membership in the Technology Club, Wilmington Diversity Committee, Junior Council of World Affairs (JCOWA). Shania is a charter of the newly formed French Club and is also a member of the Wilmington War of Wits Varsity team, and served as captain of the Relay for Life team.

Prior to her senior year, Shania was a member of the Wilmington AFJROTC and the CyberPatriots team. She is a previous member of the WHS Academic Bowl team and Air Rifle team, where she served as captain of the 1st Year Color Guard Team.

She has also served as a volunteer for the Clinton County Special Olympics, participated in the Wilmington National Honors Society, Wilmington High School Phi Delta Sigma, and Southern State Phi Theta Kappa.

Outside the school community, Shania works as a Culinary & Nutritional Services Associate at Ohio Living Cape May, interns with Campus Nation, and develops Android Apps for the Google Play store.

Looking to the future, Shania is considering the pursuit of a dual major in computer science and business with a minor in Spanish. She hopes to attend either Columbia University or The Ohio State University.

Shania is the daughter of Patricia Yahn and Eric Williams.

Andrew Evans is known throughout the Massie community for his strong character and his academic and civic leadership.

As an underclassman, Drew was active in the Falcon Athletics program and participated in various clubs. During his senior year, however, Drew made the decision to dedicate his efforts to the CMHS Key Club. Drew is a four-year member of the Key Club, serving as vice president his junior year and president his senior year.

Looking to the future, Drew plans to attend Wright State University where he has been accepted into the honors program and will study Human Resource Management.

Outside the school community, Drew enjoys gaining new experiences and visiting new places.

Drew Evans is the son of Mike and Michelle Evans.

Drew and Shania joined other area Students of the Month at the Wilmington Noon Rotary club luncheon held at Damon’s Grill in Wilmington.
