We’re back on for election letters

0

The Ohio legislature has changed the date and method of the March primary election, due to the pandemic and postponement of the March 17 in-person voting. The News Journal will once again accept primary election-related Letters to the Editor, until noon Monday, April 20. We will accept only new letters from households that did not previously submit one published in the News Journal.

The state’s deadline to cast your absentee ballot has been set for Tuesday, April 28. There will be no in-person voting for this primary.

Election-related Letters to the Editor must be 250 words or less and are subject to editing by the News Journal. Letters must maintain a degree of civility and good taste, and any that are potentially libelous will not be published.

Election-related letters are limited to one per household. Letters from candidates or their families will not be published. Due to space restrictions, we will try, but cannot guarantee, that all letters will be published in the print version of the News Journal. The News Journal reserves the right to publish or not publish a letter.

Letters should be emailed to [email protected] and include the writer’s name, community of residence, and a daytime phone number to verify authorship (and to answer any questions we may have).
