WILMINGTON — The Clinton-Massie junior varsity boys basketball team was defeated by Wilmington 64-46 last Friday night at Fred Summers Court.

Owen Trick led the Falcons with 13 points while Keegan Lamb scored 12.

Alex Jones came in with 9 points. Lex Russell and Gabe Muterspaw finished with 6 points each. Gabe McDowell chipped in 3 points. Matt Zimmerman grabbed 5 rebounds, Marty Kreider had an assist and 2 steals, Brandon Updike 2 rebounds and Jacob Jones a deflection.

Coach Steven Gerber said his Massie squad played well in the first half, leading 21-20 at the intermission. Wilmington outscored Clinton-Massie 26-7 in the third period.

Given the quarantine issues the team has had, Gerber said his team has played hard through all the adversity.

“Our kids don’t make excuses, they just go battle,” he said. “Which makes them a lot of fun to coach.”
