Despite a big night by Jena Rhoads, Wilmington was defeated by Batavia 9-8 Wednesday in SBAAC American Division softball.

Rhoads had a grand slam and drove in six runs.

Wilmington is 5-13 on the year, 2-6 in the division.

Batavia goes to 12-13 overall and 4-5 in the division.
