WILMINGTON — Spearheaded by five goals from Cameron McEvoy, the Wilmington High School lacrosse team opened post-season play with a 10-4 win over Edgewood Saturday at Alumni Field.

The Hurricane (7-5) will face No. 2 seed Indian Hill 7:30 p.m. tonight in a Division II Region 8 match in the Cincinnati suburb.

Against the Cougars, McEvoy scored five goals while Austin Pagett scored three. Logan Camp and Eric Maus had one goal each.

Bryson McVay made 14 saves in goal for Wilmington.

“We came out and played a solid game on both sides of the ball,” said WHS coach Adam Shultz. “Our dodging looked great against the Cougar defenders. We were able to get into favorable shooting positions and capitalize. Going forward, we have our biggest challenge of the year facing Indian Hill.”
