Wilmington Christian Academy hires Oliver as director

WILMINGTON — Veteran school administrator Greg Oliver has been hired to serve as K-through-12 Administrator/Director of the Wilmington Christian Academy (WCA).

Oliver relocated back to Clinton County in November 2019. In the early stage of his educational career, Oliver served as teacher, Adult Education Director, and High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Assistant Director at Laurel Oaks.

While serving as a classroom teacher, he spent five summers as the Director of the Community Action Council’s Summer Program for Economically Disadvantaged Youth (SPEDY).

Following 13 years with Great Oaks (Laurel Oaks), he served five years as East Clinton High School principal.

Most recently Oliver has worked with K-12 school reform and school improvement strategies. He served as Vice President of School Operations with Project GRAD USA for six years, and as a school improvement consultant with Pearson Education in Columbus, Ohio.

He was an assistant football coach at Wilmington College under legendary coach Bill Ramseyer. Oliver serves in an advisory capacity role with the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame.

He is a member of the local Rotary and attends First Christian Church in Wilmington.

Oliver presently is working with the WCA administration, and will assume his duties June 1.
