GEORGETOWN — Kaylee Coyle’s defense helped Blanchester defeat Georgetown 42-35 Monday in SBAAC National Division competition at Brian Grant Court.

The Ladycats, 1-1 on the year, were led on offense by Olivia Potts, who scored 16 points.

Ainsley Whitaker tallied eight points while Emma Winemiller finished with seven. Tori Potts added three while Maddison Tipton, Coyle, Lacie Tedrick and Daelyn Staehling had two points each.

Blanchester led 14-4 after one quarter then Georgetown’s Becky Roblero-Solis got hot from beyond the three-point arc, hitting four threes to cut the BHS lead to 23-20 at halftime.

Blanchester head coach Pete Jackson put Coyle on Roblero-Solis in the third period and “Kaylee shut her down,” Jackson said.

Roblero-Solis led Georgetown with 18 points. Natalee McCann grabbed 17 rebounds and Anistin Fender hauled in 12 for the Lady G-Men. Caroline Ernst had five assists and three steals.
